FineSense ("we", "our", or "us") is a personal finance application designed to help users track accounts, cards, transactions, budgets, obligations, and backups. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app handles, how that information is used, and what choices users have.

Information We Handle

Financial and account data entered by the user

This may include account names and balances, transaction descriptions, amounts, dates, categories, notes, recurring transaction details, budgets, reports, loan details, and card information such as issuer, nickname, due date, and the last four digits of a card number.

Google account information

If the user signs in with Google, FineSense may access a Google account identifier, email address, display name, profile photo URL, and session data required to keep the user signed in.

Google Drive backup data

If the user enables backups, FineSense uploads encrypted backup payloads to the user's own Google Drive appDataFolder. Backup metadata may include backup timestamp, schema version, app version, checksum, profile identifier, and device hash.

SMS message data on Android

If the user grants SMS permissions on Android, FineSense may receive incoming SMS messages and process content such as sender information, timestamps, amount, merchant names, and masked card details detected by parser rules.

Device and app data

FineSense may store limited app settings, installation-derived identifiers used to generate a hashed device reference, audit logs, and widget snapshot data required for app functionality.

How Information Is Used

Data Sharing and Disclosure

FineSense is designed to limit data sharing. We do not sell personal information.

• With Google Sign-In, when the user chooses to authenticate with Google

• To protect the rights, safety, and integrity of users or the app

Data Storage and Security

• Primary finance records are stored locally on the user's device.
• Session data and backup keys are intended to be stored in secure storage rather than the main database.
• Backup payloads are encrypted on-device before upload to Google Drive.
• Replace-style restore actions require explicit user confirmation in the app.

Data Retention

Data is generally retained until the user deletes it, signs out, removes backups, or uninstalls the app, subject to technical limitations of local storage and third-party account systems such as Google Drive.

User Choices and Controls

• Sign in with Google or continue without cloud-connected backup features
• Grant or deny SMS permissions on Android
• Use encrypted Google Drive backups or avoid them entirely
• Review, edit, or delete local finance records
• Remove backup files from the user's Google Drive app data area

Children's Privacy

FineSense is a personal finance app and is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly design FineSense for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
